Job Summary: 

 

Please note: This position may be filled at a lower level commensurate with experience.

 

Under minimal supervision/general guidance: analyze, maintain, and troubleshoot network architecture for optimization, efficient traffic flow, maximum systems availability, and proper network security to ensure maximum throughput and availability for the Bank’s information systems resources and applications. Make recommendations for appropriate purchase of networking systems based on network architectural requirements to support the Bank’s information systems and applications. Provide network support to all other Technology departments and support technicians, as needed.

 

Essential/Required Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Architect, design and deploy the network environment. 

• Develop and assist in maintenance of all network infrastructure related systems and applications, while troubleshooting network performance issues. 

• Document the current and target environment with required documentation. 

• Perform system administration functions for the Bank's LAN/WAN and VOIP infrastructures, including the maintenance of network functionality and the installation, upgrade, integration and troubleshooting of network software and network devices. 

• Adjust hardware and software to optimize network performance and functionality while administering network security to ensure compliance with information security standards and best practices. 

• Manage the network monitoring/alerting systems; review performance logs and monitoring system performance 

• Troubleshoot and evaluate requests, and identify issues resolutions for system hardware and software. Maintain documentation of networking and telephony products, vendors, issues, trends, best practices and technologies.

• Perform lead role in the installation and maintenance of WAN and LAN equipment. 

• Responsible for all router and switch configuration, maintenance and upgrades. 

• Troubleshoot routing and switching routing issues to all computing nodes. 

• Manage Inter-VLANs, VTP Domain, DHCP Scopes, Domain DNS. 

• Manage all network monitoring systems. 

• Manage systematic collection, storage and review of all network configuration files. 

Mentor and train the team members.

 

 

Requirements

Essential/Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience:

 

• Direct experience with: 

o Network architecture and principles of design, integration, and administration, including topologies, protocols, and encryption technologies like Create and maintain Internet traversing IPSec Tunnels Encapsulating GRE Tunnels 

o Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting T1s, DS3, Metropolitan Ethernet, LTE/4G, Wireless LAN, DSL circuits. 

o TCP/IP Routing with Cisco Technologies, including MPLS, EIGRP, BGP, Encapsulation of EIGRP into BGP. 

o Route filtering including Distribute List and Offset Lists, PFR, IPSLA, VOlP, load balancers; specific experience with Coyote Load Balancers. 

• Comprehensive knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP protocols. 

• Knowledge of operating system architectures, characteristics, commands and components applicable to computer platforms/operating environments, including (but not limited to): Cisco routers/switchers, Adaptive Security Appliances (ASA), Cisco VSS, Cisco Nexus, Solarwinds Orion, Call Center applications such as I3, Unity, Citrix, VMware, IDS and IPS.

• Expertise in voice and network equipment configuration, routing design, performance and measurement adept at local and remote packet capturing and analysis. 

• Solid experience with ability to troubleshoot and repair voice issues over the network. 

• Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously. 

• Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Ability to work independently with no supervision. 

Ability to stay current, learn and implement new technologies and responsibilities.

 

Certifications, Licensing, Education, Experience and Other Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree preferably in computer sciences or related field preferred, or comparable work experience 

• CCNP Required or CCIE Certification preferred. 

• 5 -7 years recent experience as an administrator for a medium to large-sized (300+ nodes) network.
